Granny had a very bad fall and was hospitalised. Most of us went there to visit her. Grandaunt together with her family came and visit her. She saw me outside the ward. She commented 漂亮的妈妈生漂亮的女儿.

 

I replied tks. I tks her for complimenting my mom. Grandaunt watch my mom grow up. From baby to being Mummy and in time to come Granny. Even I also find that Mom is very pretty esp during her younger times.

 

Growing old is a process that we can nvr avoid. Mum grow thru 4 times of birth and so much to bring us up. Sometimes, its very sad we no longer hear praises from pple just becos we aged. That why I really appreciate this compliment from my Grandaunt.

Respect

JC blog abt Respect recently, upon reading it I also like to share my thoughts on “Respect”

 

Many of us want respect from others, but however do we respect pple in the first place. “Respect” is like a mirror, when u smile the reflection smile back at you, but when u frown similarly the reflection frown back at you. Yes Im almost close to my point. First you need to know how to respect and love yourself. This will trigger your smile, when you smile (give pple the respect), the reflection will smile back at you (pple give you back the respect).

 

Many times most pple go stomping ard asking for respect becos he/she hold certain position or maybe is a senior. Respect is being gain not demand. Why some managers or aunty/uncle or more well liked than the others? I will really say its becos they really know how to respect pple sincerely.

 

So do we not respect pple for demand for respect? For me, I only give the most basic. Which means I will put on a very fake smile and simply brush thru whatever.

 

Sometimes I wonder, if pple didn’t give you the respect in the first place. Will you simply ignore that person/ show disrespect to that person/ go the extra mile to give the respect despite not receiving respect?  

Taiwan - Day 6 (Taipei)

Finally Day 6 we are back to Taipei. Morning we went to a DIY Tomatoes Farm. Okay we didnt pluck anything. I was rather disappointed. Guess have to accept it as fruits harvest have season, maybe we just not in the right season.

In the afternoon we proceed to Chiang Kai Shek beautiful home. We walk ard his place, took some shots and continue to hear his history.

We saw a piggy there. The local keep pig as pet.


In the evening we proceed to Taipei 101. The highest building in Taiwan. Basically its a high end shopping mall, mostly branded boutique. We went to try our luck on LV. Apparently its slightly more expensive than Singapore. But Gucci is cheaper.








Night time shopping was 五分埔夜市. Nevertheless its SHOPPING TIME!!!!

PS: I forgot to mention in my day 5 entries that we went to 逢甲夜市. Things are really cheap!!! I bought a pair of boots at only 590NT. We found really nice game in 夜市. HB went for the archery game at only 100NT. Last time SG have it too but it had min age requirement and way too expensive.....

DND 2008 - Costumes

This year DND theme is Splash of Colours. In conjunction of our company logo, the main colours shall be BLUE and RED. Its pretty hard to match red and blue clothing.

Lately Channel 8 is showing Little Nyonya, their colourful costumes strike me. After asking around, I went to People Park Complex to take a look. Finally I found the shop that sell Peranakan clothing. The lady boss Hubby is a Babas and they do a lot of custom made Peranakan clothing.

I told her my theme, she show me 2 set of Baju Kebaya. First set was a dark red Kebaya and dark blue Sarong. Second set was a light blue Kebaya and red Sarong. I couldnt make up the decision becos both are equally gorgeous. Lady boss advise me to take the second set as light colours suit youngster more. She did show me a yellow Baju Kebaya, I fell in love at first sight. But I didnt get it as it didnt match my DND theme.

The Baju Kebaya is not cheap!!! This set cause me $148 and the Kerosang(brooch) cause me $35. The Lady boss explain that the Baju Kebaya is high end hand embroided. She made to measure the Sarong and altered the Kebaya for me.

A little embarrassing when she measured my waist and hip. She commented "Mei Mei your waist line (23 inch) is so slim and you have "big and full" backside (34.5inch). I was rather embarrass when she said that.

I didnt get the Kasut Manek becos, its not practical cos I wont be wearing it often. I match it with a red bling bling heels.

Biggest Joke of the Year

Muahahaha!! Ok this time round Im the joker. Mom send me a sms on 14/12/2008 telling me that me chinese Bday is on 25/12/2008 and she will cook Mian Xian for me. Shortly after she called, asking me to go back for dinner yesterday as well.

So I happily merge the 2 events together and keep thinking the yesterday was my chinese Bday.

When I couldnt find any mian xian in the kitchen, asking my mom where is my mian xian. My mom then tell me its 25/12 not 17/12.

I have pple msn me to greet me Happy Bday, rcv flower and etc. In the end its a wrong date. Okay my bad!!!!

How did I lost 10Kgm

Alot of pple must be wondering why I lost so much weight. That is becos I got very sick and have been sick regularly. Let us walk thru with the pics below. To see is to believe.

During this time, I started taking over a project. The amt of stress and OT I worked make me shed some weight. During Jan 2007 I weigh only 42Kgm. This period was the most drastic drop of weight.


Feb 2007 - April 2007
When project was at the peak, I weigh 40Kgm.


Not long after CNY 2007, I fell very ill due to all the hecti work. I was put on STEROID. I was so sick that no antibiotics could cure my sickness that the GP have to put me on STEROID. I wasnt already a very strong person since young. This illness and intake of steroid weaken me further. Every single time I fall sick, I fall VERY sick and GP have no choice but to prescribe steroid.

Slowly I lost weight till today 38Kgm and blood pressure at only 110/70. In order not to trigger my sinus and cause major sickness Im put on daily steroid spray. I was addicted to the steroid spray once I stop using it I fall terribly sick.

Due to consideration of pregnancy, I stop steriod. I change to visit a chinese sensei for treatment. Today I wean off from steroid. I doesnt fall sick w/o using it but Im still very weak. I do not have enough blood pressure and often feel like fainting. Anyone ard me who fell ill, I'll be second to fall sick. My virus is so strong that it can spread till the whole office.

Did I improve? Yes at least I wean off steroid. Chinese sensei say I have a hard and long battle ahead. Either I stick to steroid for the rest of my life and I chose to build my immune by fighting the virus by my own antibodies. Hence it explain my health situation now.

My Superior aint very happy abt my MC I have taken. But Im sorry, I rather today I do not have any pay increment, no bonus and leave a bad impression to you. I also do not wish to further tarnish my health further. Today if I die, the company is only going to give a condolence flower stand and re-employ another person. At least when I work, I give my full support to the company and that the best I can do.

This is me in 2005 and the present me. I no longer able to wear any of my past clothing. I use to be able to wear S-M. Now I can only wear XS.  Small is too big for me!!!

Sicky Me

Anyway its just way too common that I fall sick. Its a since young thing. When I was young, I can visit the GP up 3 times a mth on a regular basis. Its so regular that the GP remember my name and gave my extra sweets.

Yesterday woke up as usual for work, took a crumpled pants to iron. Half way thru my ironing, I feel like puking. Put down everything and rush to the toilet but couldnt puke anything out. Suddenly my sky become dark and I knew I was abt to faint in no time. Drag myself to the bed and lie down.

Went to the GP, he suspected either stomach flu which contracted from my HB or pregnancy.

Pregnancy or not, we will know this weekend. Stay tune!!!

Mani and Pedi

Went to did my nails on last friday for my DND. I do not use to have a manicurist that I alway visit. Cos most of the manicurist really out for my pocket than my nails.

I have been sticking to WeiWei since last year. Everyone praise her beautiful job done for my wedding. Thru me she gotten a few more loyal customer. Nevertheless her fantastic skill is the one tt make her customer stay.

She give practical advise when doing nails. Before I went taiwan, I went to to do my nails. I wanted to do some nail art, but she told me its not practical cos it drop easily since Im going to do alot of packing and unpacking. My toe nail's nail art was on the side, as it will not drop off easily even if I wear covered shoes.

I wanted to do nail art for all my 10 nails but she say it will clash badly with my costume. As my peranakan costume is full of colorful flowers. So she did 2 simple nail art.


She did a french pedi for me.


And a fantastic nail art.


PS: She does a good job with VERY reasonable price. She also will not pester you to buy products.

Both of us: Laughing away.

Those who own dogs should be able to understand the joke better. LOL. I think they also feel the same. Our dogs are really neverfull. LOL!!!

生病了....

这次是老公病到了.... 又泻又吐, 昨天喉咙不舒服和伤风..... 真要命....

平时病到不清不楚的往往是我, 有一次老公被我的病菌传染也病倒了. 这次不是被我传染的, 应该是吃错东西和着凉了吧. 星期一下了一整天的雨, 冷到不行. 也应该是晚上带狗狗去散步时着凉了.

最近天气不是很好, 大家要照顾好身体喔!!!

Taiwan - Day 5 (九族文化村) (Part 2)

I didnt really play the rides as I have learnt a very good lesson when I went to Sunway Lagoon manyy years ago. I sprained my neck during a roller coaster ride and it was the first stop of my holiday. I had to continued the rest of my holiday with a sprained neck....





We took cable car to catch the aborigine tribes show.




The host introduce 9 aborigine tribes but I only remember 1 which is A Mei Tribe.










This is A Mei tribe. Those lady on the stage who wore red are the ones who live more inland and the lady who wore white are the ones who live nearer the sea.

Supper

When the wife woke up at 3am, turn ard and tell the hubby she is hungry. Hubby offer to make bread and maggie mee but the wife rejected it. The hubby make the final offer, Mcdonald, the wife happily agreed!!! Super unhealthy supper at 3am!!!!

Taiwan - Day 5 (日月潭 & 文武庙) (Part 1)

日月潭 is the largest lake in Taiwan, they also call it the Pearl of central Taiwan.  I heard from the tour guide that after the 911 earthquake, the sun moon lake become only 80% of its original size. There used to a tribe of 原住民, who stay in the middle of sun moon lake. After the 911 earthquake, only less than 10% of their pple remain. They are now classified as endangered tribe and protected by government of Taiwan.

文武庙 was built in 1938, and rebuilt in 1969. Why name as 文武庙? Because pple worship 孔子(文) and 关羽(武) and 岳飞 in this temple.

We did some praying and also lighted the candles for my 2 sisters who are still schooling. Let hope Confucius will "bo bi" the 2 of them having great results for examination. Esp the youngest one!!!
