Taiwan - Day 3 (Taroko Gorge / 太鲁阁峡谷) (Part 1)

Day 3 of the trip we travelled from Hualien upward to Taitung. We kick off the trip with Taroko Gorge / 太鲁阁峡谷. It was being mention that Taroko Gorge / 太鲁阁峡谷 is one of the most spectacular natural Wonders of the World. The gorge was formed by rapid river waters which cut through the granite and marble. This creates a beautiful, narrow river with waterfalls and patches of mist clinging to the mountains surrounded by subtropical forest.

First stop at Taroko Gorge / 太鲁阁峡谷 is 慈母桥. This is build by Jiang Jin Guo as a memory to her beloved Mum. By the way she is not Jiang Song Mei Ling's Son.


The journey up the Gorge was rather steep, heard that before was worst. Apparently Jiang Jie Shi was the one who instruct him army troops to open up the way of Taroko Gorge. They did it manually w/o any machinery!!!! Impressive!!!!

Our tour guide do not allow us to walk into the tunnel, as there was tourist being hit to death by falling stones.
