Sorry, I have been neglecting my blog for a longgggggggg time. Actually I ain't very busy, it's just that I don't have the mood to blog.

Recently quite a few people are asking how am I? Im fine, the family is fine and the new job is fine too. Due to the timing of my new work, I get to have more time with my family. I'm also settling down in my new job.

Baby S is doing more than fine and I'm intending to send him to a playgroup since he started walking very well. The reason to send him to school is for him to learn how to socialise and get use to school life before he starts his pre-school life.

Alright I'll try to blog more often.

Baby S is a late walker. His motor & speech development have alway been faster than average benchmark. Hence his late walking send me into a paranoid mood. Luckily yesterday he stood up by himself and took 3 steady steps w/o anyone asking/encouraging him. This paranoid mummy is now not so paranoid.

We try to practise walking with him every evening so that he will find more confidence and encouragement to start walking on his own.

Lazy Weekend.

Last weekend was a ubber lazy weekend. The poor hubby got to do the housework chores, bath the son and play with him. I managed to recover from the tiredness after a power nap on Saturday's evening.

On Sunday we went to Clementi Mall and got Baby S's savings account re-open. Im so impress with OCBC Sunday Banking. We headed home after doing some groceries shopping at NTUC Finest. Im starting to fall in love with NTUC Finest. It carry a lot of variety of items but some stuff can be pretty expensive.

Occasionally Im "off" on weekend. LOL! Can I look forward to more lazy weekend plssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. LOL!!!!!

Hygiene Pls!!!

I was quite shock to see some ladieS who didn't wash their hands after using the toilet. I thought washing hands after using the toilet is a basic hygiene practice???? Seriously we should at least have basic hygiene practise in daily lives. No ones want to shake a hand which is not wash after flushing the toilet.

Tell me which is worse? Used to share the toilet with an ex colleague who doesn't flush the toilet after using it or witnessing people who simply walk out w/o washing their hands after using the toilet. Well to me, both are just as BAD!

Tell me about this picture? This was taken from a LADIES! I seriously do not understand how did the urine got on to the toilet bowl........ 这个人(女人),真的很厉害! 佩服!佩服!

Last but not least, pls kindly spare a thought for others when using a public toilet. Nobody loves using a dirty toilet.

Children's friendly bus seat.

Some new SBS buses have this "Adult and child" seat located right behind the driver's seat. I personally find that this seat is very beneficiary to parents like us who often take buses with our child. Both the adult and child will have a comfortable space instead of just squeezing in 1 seat.

Unfortunately the daily bus that I take from the nanny's place back home does not have this facility. I hope SMRT can consider such type of seat to be implemented in their fleet of buses. There was once someone commented that I took up 2 seats in the bus and I was not being civic minded. Baby S is being carried by me, so most of the time we take up 1 seat. My son is growing up day by day and sometimes he just want to have a little space to stand. Together with my handbag, that day we just happened to occupy slightly a bit more than 1 seat. Oh well, I always try my best to just occupy 1 seat and most of the time like I mentioned we only take up 1 seat.

With this "Adult and child" seat, I guess parents with children will be able to enjoy the bus ride better and escape those critics which I find is pretty not understanding. I seriously hope SMRT can take in consideration of implementing this "Adult and child" seat.

I had been searching high and low for lentils and finally found it at NTUC Finest. Lentils make good children's food as it's high in protein, fiber, folate and vitamin B. Do check out more information on lentils.

I did a Father's Day card(endorsed with our son's hand print) for Hubby.

We decided to head to Vivo and dine at Marche.

-Help out with housework chores.

-Spend time with the son.
-Able to provide practical care for the son.

We are so proud to have a penguin Daddy at home who not only provides breads but also truck loads of cares & loves for the family .

Impression Matters!

First impression matters! Which goes to say your dressings matter. I'm quite impress with the ladies in Taiwan and Hong Kong as they really bother to dress up. In Singapore sadly to say, some ladies do not dress up even when attending work and functions. My ex-ladyboss who worked in Hong Kong before told me that even the junior clerk will dress up for work. But it seems like it's not the case in Singapore.

Everyone knows I'm a big time vainpot, so I do spend some time dressing myself up whether it is for work, outings or functions. Of cos I won't be dressing myself up when I head to the market or hawker center. But I will never step out of my house in pajamas which I ever witness a few ladies wearing a pajamas to market before.

Over my 5 years of full time working experiences, I really come across people who treat their workplace like beaches, shopping centers or home. I guess for men it pretty easy, long sleeve shirt with a long pant and belt. The ladies definitely have more choices from dresses, pants, skirts and different style of tops. I personally finds that we should at least have the basic dressings for the occasions/functions/environments, because it simply show the respect that we have for these occasions/functions/environments.

Updates on new job

It's 1 month into my new job!!! Initially there were some struggles as I'm quite new to environment and also the scope of job. Im starting to get the hang of 2 systems that the CO. is using. My superior has a 90 days plan for me and it's already kicking off smoothly.

So now, I spend my time in office clearing invoices, attending training by my superior and also tag along meetings. My superior is very kind to me, he is very patience when coaching me and he ask me along for meetings so that I can understand my job better. He also bothers to explain what were being discussed in the meetings and make me understand better.

I must get myself more prepared for meetings and conferencing as this are 2 major part of my job. These are somethings which I never experienced in my previous job.

Im also enjoying the facts that my traveling time to work is less than 0.5hour and I get to spend more time with my son as I knock off pretty early.

I found 1 bruise each on both Baby S's knee cap. I know there is a knee protector selling in the market and it's very affordable. But I simply refuse to get it! Baby S ain't complaining a single bit on the bruise and he is still crawling like usual. I just don't see the need to get it. The bruise are got better after I applied some lotion on it.

Some people might think I'm heartless or etc.... But hey, if we don't train our kids to be tough, can u imagine what is going to happen to him/her when he/she steps into the society. When they are require to be tough and the toughest survive!

When my boy turn 18, he needs to enlist for army training. I don't want him to be another guy who asked his maid to carry his army bag.

I can't exactly remember when did Baby S started singing, but I know he started it VERY young. I vividly remember he could only sing "Ahh~Ah~Ah~Ah~Ah" and he can go on and on. Being young he doesnt really knows how to control his voice, so most of the times his unbearable "Ahh~Ah~Ah~Ah~Ah" singing will gain us stares from the public.

Over time, his singing has improve so much that now he sings with the correct tune. Just a couple of weeks ago, I heard him humming away. I must say he hum better than some adults.

Now he can even dance and sing together!!! SO PROUD OF MY SON!!!

He will show 2 thumbs up at the end of the video & the background music is actually Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Hotdog song.

Royce Kids Gym.

Royce Kids Gym is located at Liang Court #02-20/21. I chance upon this gym when I had my company CNY dinner. It's so happened that Hubby needs to go to Liang Court to do an event coverage, so I decided to might as well let Baby S went in and have some fun.

Overall I find the place lack of a focus and there are too many toys. I will find it better if they could have focus more on the gym facilities.

This was his favourite place in they gym.

Baby S wanted to go for the Mickey Mouse but he didn't dare to crawl on the carpet. We decided to let him solved this issue by himself. Baby S is smart enough to remove the boxes(highlighted in red) and finally reached his goal.

Not forgetting to give Mickey Mouse a kiss.

The hardware shop in my neighbourhood just started business for the day. The boss was busy pushing the racks out.

Me:老板, 有卖小孩子的椅子吗?
Boss: 有! 你给我一下子, 我把这些推出来.
Me:老板, 慢慢来.

A Malay man came in and wanted to look for something.

MM: Brother got XXX or not.
Boss: Abang wait ar, I push this out then I get for you.
MM: No problem brother. You need help or not?
Boss: It's okay.

Boss: 小妹, 我推这个出来你就可以进去选.

After pushing out the racks he went to get the stuff that the Malay man needed.

Boss: Abang, this type can or not.
MM: Can lah.

I chose the chair and paid at the counter.
Me: 老板, 謝謝你.
Boss: 不用客气.

MM: Ehh brother Thanks ar.
Boss: No problem.

We might not speak the best English and Chinese but it's these little things that make us Singaporeans. Let's all come together and make this country a better place by simply showing each other some courtesy, respect and help in our daily lives.

We have been wanting to get him a chair so that he will not always need to sit on the floor. Last weekend we headed to IKEA and went home empty handed. We actually spotted 2 little chair but it's simply not worthwhile to spend $60++ and $100 for just a chair that they will out grown.

I found this chair at my neighbourhood's hardware shop. It only cost me $8.90 and it will let out a loud beep if it's well sitted.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers especially to those "special" mothers. I know how it feels when people gossip behind our back, when people give us the abnormal stare and when people simply just come up and say "Hey your kid got problem".

To hell with all these nonsense, our children are definitely more than worthwhile. Every child is uniquely special in their own way and behind these "specialties" it's none other than a GREAT Mom.

Hubby bought me a Kate Spade bag as a gift. (Never mind about the hoo-ha on Miss TPL.)

General Election 2011

There were many 1st time in this election:
-1st time Singaporeans talk so openly about politics.
-1st time so many people went to support Opposition Parties' rallies.
-1st time people cheered openly for Opposition Party winning the election.
-1st time many people voted without fear.

The other day we had a family trip to IKEA, while having lunch we overhead a group of ladies discussing positively about politics. To our surprise they are a group of young ladies likely hood to had just graduated from University. This show that Singaporeans even the younger generation is more involved in the nation issues. This election has been a wake up call not only to the ruling party but also many Singaporeans not to be too complacent.

I can't help but to feel sorry for Mr Chiam for losing Potong Pasir. I'm quite sure although he lost the election, he has win many Singaporeans' respect. For a man who love his country and fellow country mans. For a man who gave so much to this nation and still believe in giving despite not being in the pink of health. I really salute and respect you from the deepest of my heart.

I'm hope that the ruling party will keep their promise of listening and empathise more on the citizens. I don't think we need a country with a highest GDP with their citizens barely catching up with the pace of life.

Below are some point I hope to see in the next General Election.
-Bukit Batok is at least a SMC. If Radin Mas and Bukit Panjang can be SMC, I don't see why Bukit Batok should be part of Jurong GRC.
-Fairer allocation in GRC system. (My gf who stay in Chinatown is being allocated to Moulmein-Kallang GRC.)
-No more of using upgrading as "bait" for voters to consider.
-No increase of deposit for any contesting party.

I hope in the next 5 years I can see the below:
-More accountability of everything.(Esp when a mistake is make.)
-Minimum CPF withdrawal date to amend back to 55 years old. (For goodness sake these are pple hardearned $$).
-Solutions for overcrowding in public transport.
-More help given to the poor and old.
-Making HDB flats more affordable to everyone.
-Tighter control of influx of foreign workers.
-Review on our education system. (We are suppose to educate them not train them.)
-More entries allocated for Singaporeans in local universities and more bursary given out to students to help cope with the school fees.

The General Election 2011 had been one of the most heated up election. Many people say the biggest winner is Worker's Party. Deep in my heart I feel that Singaporeans is the biggest winner. What have we won? We win our nation pride and took a step to true democracy.

I'm also happy that we have all been very civilized thru out the General Election. That is what I can't see in many neighbouring countries.

The General Election has come to an end. May I urged every Singaporeans to come together as one and continue to contribute positively to our nation. This country is worth we protecting and fight for, as this is a place we call HOME!!! Let us progress as One united people, one united Nation, One SINGAPORE.

Well done Singaporeans!!! Just like Mr Chiam, I love my country and my fellow country mans.

We went to the Zoo Zoo Zoo - Part 2

When I was young, I love this station the most. I recalled that there was an area explaining about the process of hatching of chicks. Rabbits and hamsters were also displayed and the best thing was they can be carried and cuddled.

We then proceed to the highlight of the day, the water area.

He cried when he realised that Mommy is not joining him.

After having some fun with the water, we proceeded to the animal's show.

The cheeky, hardcore fan of the show! LOL!

Can u spot a lady covering her mouth in the picture? I guess many are like her, surprised that we allowed our child to touch such a big dog. Some pple even think we are lunatics to allow our baby to play with our dog. Unfortunately we are not the "social norm" parents and I believe that if 1 do not even know how to show kindness to animals who are believed to be lesser beings than us, how can he/she be kind to their fellow beings.

This is the place where we had our lunch, as usual everything is overprice.

Of Career

Prior our son's arrival, Hubby and I discussed whether it's good for me to be a SAHM or return to work force. After much discussion, we decided that being a working Mom would probably be a better choice for me. I'm a young mother, if I were to be a SAHM, be the time my son had grown up and be independent, I will be probably in my 40s. I guess it will be way too late to return to work force by then. Hubby also feels that I shouldn't be losing out in my career and it's not fair to me.

I will be starting my new job in early May. The new job will give me a better work-life balance, a better career advancement and a much more stable income. I'm looking forward to this new learning horizon.

A lot of people asked me why I call quit for my current job. Before anyone asked me, I had asked myself this question a thousand time. Very sad to say, as a working mother I can no longer be so operationally ready and my current working environment is not a very "family friendly" ground. In this line, OT are so frequent it become part of the job. Just the other day, a colleague also a working mother told me something very heartbreaking. Her son told others that all that he learn today was taught by the caregiver not by his mother, cos his mother has no time for him. If my son was to say this 1 day, I will definitely tender my resignation with immediate effect and spend all my time with him.

Before I look out for a new opportunity, I also asked myself am I cut for this line, do I want to return to this line? When I was quite convinced that I wasn't cut for this line, my 2 referrers (both my ex superior) some how "confused" me. My new job require 2 referrers to support my CV and the new company take into serious consideration of the referrer's comments. Nevertheless their good comments landed me a job and also landed me in a "confuse" state of my previous thought. I also like to Thanks my 2 referrers for the kind comments and also the kind advice 1 of my ex superior given to me. Im glad that after so many years my hard work remained in your heart. :) It somehow make me feel a lot better in the situation.

Anyway, Im glad I have landed myself in non operation job and all these shall be left behind me. Whether Im cut, whether I'm suitable, it's all going to be over soon. Now I just hope to close this final chapter smoothly.

On Baby S actual Bday, we went to the Zoo!!! Singapore Zoo has definitely change a lot since I last visited donkey years ago. We had fun though it can be quite tiring.

Done up some simple dishes over the last weekend. Nothing fantastic but at least better than tabao from hawker center everyday.

Last but not least I always have a very loyal fan of my cooking that is none other than my hubby.

Steam egg, stir fry vegetables with abalones and ABC soup.

-Cooing at 1.5 months old
-Flip 1 side at 2.5months old
-Sit with support at 3months old
-Flip both side at 4.5 months old
-Had his first taste of semi solid food at 5.5mths old.
-Flip both side at 6 months old
-Sit w/o support(not too steady) at 7 months old
-Clap hands at 7 months old
-Wave hands at 8 months old
-Can sit well w/o support at 8 months old
-Started crawling at 8 months old
-Can babble very well at 9 months old
-Surprise us by saying MILK at 9 months old (1 off incident)
-Can do crawl to sit by 9 months old
-Can do sit to crawl by 10months old
-Can stand with support at 10months old
-Can do "bye bye" action at 10 months old
-Point at things he want at 11 months old
-Can cruise at 11 months old.
-Can say bye bye very accurately before turning 12 months old.
-Can say Elmo and No more(with action) at 12 months old.
-Can stand w/o support for a while at 12 months old.

Now he can pronounce many words inaccurately, I'll be doing phonics and flash card with him more often. Anyway I'm looking for those classes that teaches parents how to teach baby phonics and flash card, if you do happen to know please drop me a note.

I'm more than happy with both his motor skill and speech development. The only thing I'm worry is that him being under weight.

When Baby S was 2.5 months old, he did his first flip. I asked myself who taught them how to do this, a gentle whisper said GOD. Yes this is the first time I felt God so close to me. Also due to Baby S, I started praying a lot to GOD. I must say Im very bless, as most of the time God answer my prayers. By God's faith we managed the 2 operations very well.

Everyday on the long bus journey to Nanny's place, I always have my quiet moments with GOD. Sometimes when Im very frustrated and lost my directions in life, I will always be able to find some serenity, answers to my frustration and questions. God also give me plenty full of wisdom and faith in life.

I must say by God's faith Im happier, stronger and wiser!!

The second round of celebration were much more for immediate families and friends. The party really turn out to be fantastic. All of us could sit down and do a lot of chit chattings. The kids were running freely and happily in the house.

1 Year Old Bday Celebration (Part 1)

Hubby and I decided that we shall do a small birthday celebration for Baby S as we didn't like the experience of having TOO MUCH guest at a go. Yes we are referring to Baby's full month celebration. Guess what, we didn't even have time to catch up with our guest. It was a "hi-bye" event. My house was so cramped with more than 50 guests. Hence we do not want to repeat this history again.

We have dinner at Long Beach IMM with my immediate family. The food is good except the black pepper crab was too spicy. The service was more than fantastic!!!

CNY 2011

This year CNY was great!! We managed the logistics very well and Baby S was very cooperative except for the feeding. We had the usual rounds of visiting but didn't really managed to catch up on the first day of CNY.

Our place was simply decorated and Baby S is very fascinated with the "rabbits" hanging on the wall.

It was Hubby's ex company family day, we decided to go since the tickets were sold at half price. It turn out a lot much better than I expected, I'm not sure why I do not have a good impression of it. The parking fee was a bomb and every other thing in the theme park was over price.

Overall it's a good place for family outing when their child is at least 3 yrs and above.

Brush the teeth!!

Dr C.Lee advised us to start brushing Baby S teeth during our last post operation appointment. We are constantly reminded that milk teeth are extremely important for cleft babies as they serve as "marking point" where adult teeth need to be aligned.

Initially Baby S refused to let us brush his teeth, so I got Daddy to brush his teeth in front of him and he happily give in to me. Now I just need to show him the toothbrush he will quickly open his mouth for me to brush his teeth. Not everyone can do this trick, only his ever dearest Dad can to it. Baby S and Hb share a very unique bond that not many father and child has. You are wrong if you think that such bond fell from the sky. Hubby is the next main care giver of Baby S, he is able to fully take care of Baby S and that is something many fathers refused(or need not) to do. Daddy has always been his best playmate ever since his birth.

Summary of 2010

Year 2010 had been an extreme good and bad for me, I thank God for the good that were blessed on us, as for the bad I'll just take it as to learn some valuable lesson from surviving the ordeal.

Good:
Earlier on this year I delivered Baby S and no amount of bad shall forfeit this good. We went through treatment and surgery together. I must give lots of Kudos to my dearest son, he fought so bravely this year and on top of that he did not forget to bring us lots of laughter. Both of his surgery are huge success!!!

We found a good nanny for Baby S, so its a great relieve for his weekday day care. With the step in of a great help, our lives are much back to normal or even better. Else I think I will die of endless worries.

Baby S has been hitting his developing milestones well, there were even a few occasion he surprise us by saying, Hi, Bye, No more and milk. I guess nothing beats an ever happy and bubbly baby.

I had passed my BTT and also my FTE. I should be able to clear FTT in mid Jan and start booking for my driving lessons.

HB is going to move on in his career, a good kick off for 2011.

Bad:
The family went to into a chaos because of a foolish act. My colly use to tell me that everything happen for a good reason. For this foolish act we found a good nanny and really get to know who are the ones who really love us. Therefore Im not too sure whether I shall categories this a good or bad.

Finance had been bad for 2010, we spent a bomb on Baby S's treatment and surgery. On top of that the sudden cost of nanny and 'logistics' have been an impact to us. The good thing of this bad is we manage to sort our finance and learn to be thrifty in our daily lives.

Job has always been bad!!! The high turnover rate and the same old management problem are seriously irking me badly. I hope for 2011 things get better if not this problem shall never ends.

So much so for 2010, I hope 2011 will be a more bless, fulfilling and prosperous one!!! Im also looking forward to our 1st family holiday trip in 2011!!! Happy New Year 2011 to everyone!!!

Life is a package of good and bad. You simply can't just choose the good and ignore or dump the bad.

Life is very sad when nobody around you bother to tell you that you did such an irresponsible act.

Last but not least get a life, stop behaving like drama queen / childish kid demanding for attention. If people refuse to give in you do stupid actions to get what you want.

Hubby has been talking about the puppets for quite some time. Initally only wanted to get Elmo but Toysrus is having sales(2 for $29.90) so we bought Cookie Monster too. The father and son had a lot of fun with the puppets.

Dibo the gift dragon is 1 of Baby S favourite cartoon. We have been searching high and low for the toy and finally found it at Kiddy's Palace. The plush toy only cost $29.90.

His tummy can be unzip and there is a gift box in it.

Baby S had his palate repair surgery done 2 weeks ago. I really must give in to my son. He is really a strong boy. If I'm the one going thru the surgery, I think I'll be a million time more frustrated than him.

Next day after his operation, he was slightly more alert and he noticed his little red toe. That is a device to detect his oxygen level. He was quite amused by the light and keep playing with it.

I told him red toe are for strong boy like him, not all babies have red toe.

I Thank God all is well for him now. Although his recovery this time was slightly longer but at least he is back to being a cheerful baby again.

Stomach Flu....

Oh well, it seems like I would get stomach flu at every year end. Gosh this time round is very bad!!! I LS a total of 15 times and feel so weak......

The good thing about stomach flu is that now Im "tummy-less". Yesterday I slept for the longest time since I gave birth to Baby S. I slept from 2pm till next day 8am.

Today Im slightly better, hopefully I'll recover asap. I dont want to be sick during festive season!!

I know I'm late, its better late than never. ;P Today Baby S seems much better, he can control his saliva better, his mood is a lot better. Oh well we are connected, he is happier so am I and when he doesn't sleep so do I.

Finally my blogging mood is back!!! Let me kick off with some overdue post.

I was invited to JC's new/2nd love nest on Deepavali. Sometimes it's really It's a good to catch up with colleagues/friends outside a working ground. There will be times when we dont agree on each other working style therefore such gathering will "neutralise" those disagreement. Life is never just about work, there is a lot more than the working's life.

Infant care vs Nanny

Below mentioned are base on personal experience.

Infant Care
Pros:
1. Baby can socialise
2. Record of baby's activity
3. Lots of baby activity(eg; reading of books and singing song)
Cons:
1. No 1 to 1 attention
2. Get sick easily (Baby S came home with scratches everyday for the 4 days at infant care)
3. Standard operating hours (Need to rush to pick up baby)

Nanny
Pros:
1. 1 to 1 attention
2. Less falling sick
3. Timing more flexible
4. Personalise care
Cons:
1. Might pick up bad habit from Nanny's environment
2. Nanny usually wont read story book or educational stuff with baby
3. Some Nanny might not be able to provide basic care for baby.

I still prefer letting Nanny to take care of Baby S. The nanny we engaged is really a rare good nanny. So far I do not have any major issues with her. We can tell that Baby S likes her and her family very much. She is also very experienced and take care of Baby S very well. She never complain on how tough my son is and I can say that she is even more patience with Baby S compare to me. She is very particular about the food I prepare for Baby S, she say she won't mind the hassle if I don't have time to get FRESH food and fruits prepared.

We will probably stick to the current plan unless any major issues cocks up again.

Baby S is so in love with Mickey Mouse clubhouse, Dibo the Gift Dragon and basically all cartoon air on Disney playhouse channel. We are also so good with the theme song, you name it we sing it!!!

Nonsense Hubby!!!

I think man are born to talk nonsense, just like how woman are born to gossip.

Case 1:
Baby S was fussing over drinking breast milk after a long time of drinking only formula milk. I told HB to get Baby S distracted so that I can finished feeding the milk.
HB(At a distance telling Baby S): Hey Son, support original!!!

Case 2:
Baby S is quite fond of playing with his private area during bath time recently. Being first time parents and not having any male siblings, I do not know that its normal for boys to touch their private area at such young age. HB being the closest male species to me, I asked him is it normal for Baby S to behave like this.
HB: Hey what do you expect, thats the only time of the day he get to see his penis.
After looking for a while, he walk out laughing out loud.
Oh well at least end of the day he did actually bother to explain why boys behave like this and I also checked out with my cousin did my nephew behave the same way.

Case 3:
I was shivering away after walking out of the bathroom.
HB: Your body is telling you that you are not having enough weight.
Me: But Im still very fat.
HB: For goodness sake, we need fats to protect ourselves from cold and you are already very slim.
Me: Yah but not slim enough.
After not being able to convince me to put on weight logically, he started spouting nonsense.
HB: Do you know why you hurt so much after u fell? Because you got no fats to cushion you.
Me: So are you telling me fat people dont feel pain when they fall?
HB: Yes they dont, the floor are the one who feel the pain when they fall.
Super nonsense can!!!

Case 4:
HB: You bought new shoes AGAIN.
Me: Ya bought shoes but not again.
HB: The shoes cabinet, racks are full and the whole floor is your shoes. Do you want me to do a walk in wardrobe for you and when all you GFs are here, they go WOWWWWW!!!
Me: I don't mind. (For once I managed to answer his nonsense back!! Hahaha)

Case 5:
In the morning when we are leaving home for infant care.
HB(to Baby S): Look at your mummy, she is putting so many plaster on her feet, all because of her NEW shoes.
Heading to work after sending Baby S to infant care.
HB: 2 new pairs of shoes left you with 6 plaster on your feet.
Me: Yah new shoes are like that no choice.
HB: With so many plaster, u might as well bandage your whole feet.
Although he was very sarcastic about me buying new shoes, at night he did came and asked me how was my feet. 真的对他又爱又狠.

Weekend = Family days.

Weekends are when I do not need to wake up at 430am to get everything prepared and everyone is spared from the daily rush.

Last weekend, we head to MacDonald to have breakfast, Daddy and Baby S went for a haircut after the breakfast.

Very well mannered boy. Dont fuss when we had meals. Can you see he can sit very well? Yes recently he can sit w/o support and manage the balance very well.

I gave him some hotcakes, he loves our food very much. I only gave food which are suitable for babies as I do not want him to grow up to be a picky eater.

He didn't cried a tear nor make any fuss at the salon. The salon hairstylists are so fond of him. All of them praised that he is a very well behaved boy. We decided to name him 师奶杀手!!

Baby S went to "school".

Nanny went oversea for 4 days, so we left Baby S at an infant care centre. After 4 days at the infant care centre, we realised that Baby S loves to interact with other kiddos. Teacher also feedback that Baby S will take initiative to interact with other babies.

We are very proud of our son. All the teachers commented that our son is a very well behaved boy. I can tell that Baby S do enjoy infant care very much. We can't send him now due to his operation, maybe we will consider child care service when he turn 18 months old.

Baby S and fellow "classmate". This girl together with another baby boy cried non stop on the first day we arrived. That send Daddy Chen damn worried.....

Just some updates

1. Baby S is going to infant care next week for 4 days as nanny is oversea. Im trying my very best to come up with logistics plan. Cross fingers and hope everything go well.

2. I dont know how to describe my work now. Firstly Im disappointed with a few parties, secondly Im quite pissed off with some silly customer, last but not least I hate "OT-S".

3. AAA still message me every now and then. I dont know whats the agenda behind those SMSes, I just find them very childish and contradicting. Last but not least, after all the hooha AAA still doesnt know what she wants in life. The people around her is pulling their hairs on behalf of her.

4. I went for my eyes checkup and everything turn out fine. Specialist couldnt detect anything amiss and just asked me to monitor. So at least this is a pretty good piece of news.

5. XXX called me today. Im not sure whether I should be happy that he actually called me. Well at least I like the way he spoke to me over the phone. Cos he didnt sound like I owe him a living and he was "concern" about whats happening to me. The best things is he even tell me about his whereabouts for next month. Until now I still cant figure what he wants to tell me over the phone.

6. Im still very broke and will be broke till at least end of the year sobz sobz.

Hubby got me a 'surprise' gift, a eye shadow palette. Initially I told him to get it for me, but later the spree organiser bought from another supplier which is double the price compared to the initial supplier. I find that price not worthwhile so I told HB to cancel the order.

HB secretly bought it and keep mums for 2 month. Finally when the spree arrived, he told me there is a parcel for you. As I wasn't expecting anything, I quickly went to take a look. To my surprise its the eye shadow palette.

This is not any branded goods or high end product but is enough to make me over the moon. Reason because its a gift from my love ones.

With Baby S presence, this year Children Day came especially special to me. I haven't been celebrating Children Day for don't know how many donkey years, finally this year we get to share the wonderful joy. The joy of children!!!

2 days before Children Day, Nanny's grandson did a drawing of Baby S. He was waiting eagerly for me to pick up Baby S that evening. The moment I step in, he rush up showing me the drawing he done in school. Its an art work for Children Day. He was exclaiming happily that he did a drawing of Baby S. I'm touched by the little act of him, it somehow shows that children are simpler that why there are happier.

Eve of Children Day, Nanny's grandson got ready a paper bag with gift inside meant for Baby S. He gave Baby S the gift, which is ruler and pencil, that was given to him from his school as a Children Day gift. He asked me to chose a sticker for Baby S too. He wanted to give me a scented diary as a gift as well. Nanny told him Baby S too young for all these and I also politely rejected as the gift is of more use to him than to Baby S. He was very insisting and in the end he stick the stickers on my paper bag for us to bring it home.

After a long day of sickening work, its really happy to have such pleasant surprise. Nothing great involved here but its the thoughts that really matter.

In return, I also bought a Thomas and Friend train as a gift for Nanny's grandson.

Weekend @ IKEA

Went to IKEA to source for storage solutions for nursery room. We bought a few items mainly for Baby S and eyed on a few items also for Baby S. Now we need to punch the calculator, ensure that all things are bought within budget.

I had Nasi Lemak and HB had overpriced meatballs. HB gave Baby S orange juice, we love the expression on Baby S. It's his first time drinking juice. Baby S rarely fuss during our meal time, that's is 1 reason why I can bring Baby S out alone w/o much worries.

I love family day out like this, we don't need to go to high end places but equally enjoyed ourselves.

Most of the times its not where you go is who you go with that matters.

I fell!!!

Damn after a good whole not falling for 1.5 years, I had my first fall. A nasty + embarrassing one.

I fell when alighting the bus. The bus's air-con has be to blamed!!! My legs were cold and wobbly after a 45mins ride. 1 guy rushed up to help me up, the other one queuing behind me got a shock and keep asking me "are you alright?" . That make me more embarrassed. Quickly stable myself, thanks them and walk away.

I can't wear anything that is beyond knee length cause the abrasion hurts.

This fell also marked the clumsy me is back again.

Baby S in Jumperoo

I rented Fisher Price Jumperoo from Rent That Toy. Some toys will be outgrown very soon hence there is no need to spend a bomb on them. Renting the toy can help save money and baby can have more option of toys without worrying the storage at home.

Initially he didn't know what to do with the Jumperoo, it took him a few rounds to start enjoying the Jumperoo.

Plan wrecked & everythings so wrong

TOTALLY WRECKED!!!!!

Sigh, I don't know why. When I thought I have planned everything well, such thing happen. Now I'm so caught in the daily rush and being so sleep deprive, I simply can't think properly at all. Re-planning every single thing is still required.

Luckily we found a nanny for Baby S, so baby issue is more or less settled. I didn't know the real meaning of DESPERATE until I was looking high and low for a caregiver for my 'special' son in a super short period of time. Leaves meant for his post op were burnt. HB and I have to take turn to care for him instead of the initial plan.

A good friend's mom told me that career golden period is between 25-35. This 10 years will determine a lot. I planned to put more focus on my career and really make the best during this golden period. But God decided to crack a joke on me. Now I had to juggle work and baby at the same time. To make matter worse, company is going through another round of changing of staff. That means, I'm going to be SUPER busy till probably end of the year. I can't afford to OT till very late cause Baby S needs to be picked up. So crazy workload + tight working hours = Good Luck to me.

Im not sure what's suppose to be next, not sure how to planned anymore.

Some of my long term plan which are not in sequence.
1.Getting a car
2.Get a degree
3.Gives Baby S a sibling

Last but not least I'm broke.... Damn BROKE!!! Especially this month...... I have ate into my savings........ The money that were planned to be saved, the money that were planned for needs and wants are all GONE........... With so much things planned ahead and so little money left would probably means some plans got to be sacrificed. How I wished I have a printing money machine at home, or wake up with a bed full of money. To make either 2 happen, all I need is to DREAM ON!!!

On top of all these bread and butter issues, I still have to endure unnecessary mental stress. Problems which were never mine became my fault. I'm a human being trying to be superman for the past 25 years and I'm so sick and tired of it.

All I want is a SIMPLE life and I hate it when people complicate my life. Enough is really enough!!!!

Baby S started teething since 5 months old. Finally yesterday a small bit of the tooth erupted from the gum. I'm happy that his teeth are growing but I hate the teething process. They gets cranky, sick and go on milk strike......

Shopaholics at it again!! Being a mother means I have lesser time at the shopping mall. Shopping with a baby ain't easy. Most of the time I will be hearing Baby S fussing when Im not even half done with the shopping. So online shopping is easier.

I bought a total of 4 dresses with SeralaVogue. The quality of the dresses is good and the cutting fits me very well. Most importantly all their clothing are sold at VERY affordable price. Its tough to find clothing for petite girls like me.

PS: One man's meat is another man's poison. Its suit me doesn't mean it suit everyone. Hence do your homework before purchasing online.

Retail Therapy

It never fails to cheer me up. I took a "off" day and did ~~some~~ a lot of shopping for me and Baby S.

After knocking off I head to Supperclub flea market to do some shopping. Can really find lots of good stuff at affordable price. I bought 3 dresses which are below $20, a romper at $5 and a Naraya bag at $16.50.

After the 1st round of shopping, vain pot mummy went to do eyelash extension. Im going to get busy with transporting Baby S thru and for nanny's place. With this eyelash extension I can do w/o makeup and this will save me a lot of time in the morning. I also had a good 1 hour chat session(yes its all about our child) with my beautician.

2nd round of shopping was all out for Baby S. Got him some utensils, socks, rompers, DVD and cereal. All these cost me $160++.

Retail therapy is good for the soul but bad for the pocket.

Bought from Mothercare. I love their products especially their rompers and socks.

Busy especially with sick bug

Sorry for not updating the blog for 1 whole week. I was very busy lately with the same old thing(work, housework chores, baby and etc.). Never mind I'm always very busy. Haiz....

Well things didn't get any better with sick bug sticking to us like superglue. I was sick 3 weeks ago, when I thought I was fully recovered, I started to sneeze and cough again. While the runny nose was easily controlled under the new medication and nasonex, the cough was not a very serious one but is with me for 1 week and is still with me. >.<"'

Granny A had blood pressure rose to a scary level so she took a day off and I also had to take a day off from work to look after Baby S.

Baby S is sick, VERY sick...... I was the one who pass the nasty virus to him. He started with minor cough, on Wednesday early morning, 3am, I realised he was running fever and he was coughing very badly. Quickly give him panadol and cough syrup. Fever and cough subsided during the day but came back with runny nose in the evening. So we brought him to the nearby GP and was given medication for runny nose and reducing of phlegm.

When I was changing his diaper, I spotted some blister on his butt. I thought it was the normal diaper rash but it got worse the next day. Google the net and understand that blister at the butt is one of the symptom for HFMD. After checking with bestie and cousin, best solutions is to rush him to PD.

According to Dr Teo, the blister on his butt look like those HFMD blister. Dr Teo suspect he might have contracted both HFMD and cough virus or he probably had only cough virus and those is only bad diaper rash that are cause by poor immune. He told us to monitor for 2 days for more rashes, if there are more rashes spread to other area than its confirmed Baby S down with HFMD. We were told to stay home for these few days. We left the clinic with more medicine.

Luckily today there isnt any new rashes appearing, we are hoping the same for tomorrow. His fever and cough is slightly better today. I hope he get well soon. It pain me to see him being sick.

NUH Chalet - Day 2 (Heartbroken Parents)

Baby S was very cooperative, he didn't cry for milk before his surgery. Surgery Department nurse came and wheel us to the operating theater.

Hubby wasn't allowed in as only 1 parent can go in with the child. Its freaking cold inside the operating theatre lounge. Dr Lee S.J. came in shortly and assured the panicking mother. The Anesthetist arrived shortly after Dr Lee S.J., she farmilarise with Baby S before carrying him into the operation theater.

I didn't cry because I know I simply can't. :(

I had to hunt for a GP to get the silly nose treated. So we decided to head to Tanglin Halt for breakfast and see a GP.

We head back to NUH after everything was done. We waited for almost 1.5 hours before Dr Lee S.J. to inform us that the operation were done. Well by then we were already waiting at the operation theater waiting lounge. Dr Lee S.J. came out shortly and informed that the operation were well done and the nurses are waking Baby S up.

5 mins later, we were able to go into the operation theater. The moment I saw my son, my heart shattered into pieces. He was crying pitifully, initially I thought he was in immense pain, after offering him some milk, we realised he was crying out of hunger. Baby S ousted out blood from his nose and mouth, the nurses quickly clean him up and assure us that this was perfectly normal after the surgery.

After confirming the ward, Baby S was wheeled to ICU. Baby S would wake up every now and then crying for milk. So we make a point to feed him every 2 hours. Baby S also had a low grade fever but Dr Lee S.J. advised that its common for fever to set in after the surgery.

The in-charges nurse was pretty unfriendly and keep coming in at the wrong timing. She will come in to do all the monitoring of temperature and etc just right after we had a hard time coaxing Baby S to sleep.

It was a tough night!!! It make things worse with a unhelpful nurse. Is all senior nurse like this? So long in the job till there is no more emotion attached to it? I know she just a job to do, but can't you do it with a little more compassion?

Trouble Eyes

After 2 incident of sudden lost of vision, I decided to see a specialist. Due to the complication of the issue, I decided to go to the polyclinic to get a referral letter.

The doctor after hearing my problem and checking my eyes couldnt give me any advice. He referred me to NUH Eye's specialist and stressed that if it happen again take the letter and rush down to A&E immediately.

I'm smelling serious trouble for eyes...

Registration was done within 5 mins.

I waited for 3 hours just for a referral letter. Well can't complain much since its a government clinic.

Xenzel's Full Month Celebration

We were invited to Xenzel's full month celebration. Xenzel is Dennis and Irene 3rd bundles of joy. I really salute their courage, 1 is enough to exhaust me out.

This is the first time Baby S attended full month celebration. There were so many children running in the house and its plain joy just watching them played and bickered. There was this very beautiful little girl came to Baby S and make friend with him. Children are really blessing from GOD!!!

Morning we head to NUH for Baby S's ENT appointment. Baby S is really cute, he answer every question Dr Low asked.

Dr Low: How is his ears?
Baby S: Uhmm
Dr Low: How is his hearing?
Baby S: Ehhh
Dr Low: Let me take a look at his ears.
Baby S: Uhmm
Dr Low: He can answer all my question.
Baby S: Chuckles!!!!

Dr Low commented his ears are fine except for his ear wax which he removed it.

We proceed to Plaza Singapura, LaoBeiJing for lunch. The food was disappointing. Did some shopping in town and head home. Well there is really nothing much we can do with a little baby with us. No I'm not complaining but as parents we just need to adjust our lifestyles to suit our bundles of joy.

We didn't forget out old mutt. We also wished him Happy Bday, the only consolation we can give ourselves is that he is a free dog now.

Happy Bday Hubby!!! Tks all the things you have done for the family!!!

Decided and Ordered!!!

The current Capella pram has some of it fabrics torn. Well some were already torn when it came to us. After 6 months of usage, we found more fabrics torn. HB couldn't stand the sight of it and ask me to source for a new one.

Initially planned to get a Maclaren's stroller after Baby S could sit w/o support. Now our plan have to step in earlier. No we didn't get Maclaren, we have decided to go for Peg Perego P3!!!!

The spacious sitting area and sturdiness of Peg Perego P3 are the factors that attracted me. For the sturdiness we need to give in to the weight of the pram. Its 8.5Kgm!!! That is 2 times heavier than Combi's pram. The retail price of the pram cost $750!!! But I managed to purchase it from a direct distributor at a lower price.

Pram will be deliver to us probably next week!!!

1 Grandma is more than enough to spoil him, I can't imagine if my PIL is around.

I bought a swimming tub and this is the beginning of an expensive exercise. We have to let the water run for at least a good whole 20mins to only fill 1/2 the tub.

Baby S do enjoy the swimming session very much. Initially he didnt know what to do. After 5 mins, he started kicking and swimming happily in the tub.

Both my dogs love Baby S to bits. Oreo has been a fantastic dog minus her barking. She would dash to me when Baby S cries or make the slightest noise(we human ears cant hear).

Giving up your dog over baby is an irresponsible act. If you are not sure whether you can handle baby and dog together, then don't get a dog in the first place. They will never understand why you abandon them, they will love your child as much as they love you. If you don't give them the chance, the right guidance towards baby, they will never have the chance to love your child.

Starting on semi solid food

Baby S started semi solid food at 5 months 1 week old. Initial plan was to start at 6 months old because PD gave the green light so we started early. PD advised to start with 1/3 feed and slowly replace the 1 afternoon feed with cereal or purees.

I know some parents are very eager to let their baby start semi solid food and start giving them at 4 months old. General guidelines are to start semi solid food at only 6 months old, unless with PD approval.

After the class, we headed for our lunchner. Tks God, that we do not have a cranky baby. I know some parents who never able to have a proper meal with their baby ard.

Baby S was so interested in our food, he keep eyeing on the fries. He still have to wait till he turn 1 yrs old, before we would consider to give him any junk food.

We ordered buffalo wings and honey baked ribs. The ribs was tasty but the wings were awfully salty. >.<"' Overall its still a good dining experience and its pretty affordable.

After our meal, we headed to Takashimaya for some shopping.

Fun Saturday with Kindermusik

FUN! FUN! FUN! Really didn't regret signing up the trial class with Kindermusik!!! Baby S and I enjoyed the session. I learned so much from the class. Kindermusik is definitely more than music.

I have been looking around for schools and classes for Baby S, because I do not want to send my son to a school which only emphasis on academical studies. Learning is definitely more than these.

Baby S can cry the whole house down, but once we start singing to him he will calm down. When he is fussy during milk feed, we just have to sing to him and he will peacefully finish his milk. Daddy has been singing him to sleep lately. With such strong liking of music I signed up for Kindermusik lesson. The program is not only fun and useful in practical life.

I'm not those Kiasu parents who signed up classes w/o considering the child likes and dislikes. I'm not those parents who needs their children to be scholar, I just want my child to grow up in a happy environment where learning is nothing but FUN!!!

Playing with different musical instruments and stop upon instruction. Instructor mentioned that if we repetitively do this, baby can stop at their own. This will help them understand that they have control over their body, hence they can control themselves better when throwing tantrum. Baby also learn rhythm.

Instructor Cailin mentioned that Baby S is really attentive in class, how can he not be when he is so in love with music. Baby S was the only baby in the class who wasnt fussy.

There was a lot more that we learn in the class!!! We decided to sign up the class when Baby S can sit by his own or when he turn 6 months old. Instructor Cailin also mentioned that the best time for baby to start the class is 6 months old and baby can learn much more than we imagine at a young age!!!! So mummy don't waste youur baby time away.

2nd Post Operation with follow up with Dr C.Lee

Dr C.Lee want me to massage his scar 4 times a day......... Baby S simply hate pple touching his wounds. Oh well I must admit that the scar look less visibly after massaging.

After our appt, we went SHOPPING!!! First we head to Tanglin Mall, signed up a trial class with Kindermusik. Im so looking forward to the class, which is tml!!! After which we head to Forum, had a late lunch and went to Toys"R"Us.

Baby S had a hair cut at Junior League located inside Toys"R"Us. Although we are very reluctant, but its for his own good. Half of his hair aint growing. We were given lollipop and stickers after the haircut. Junior League is a kiddos specialise hair salon, it lessen trauma for kids and the equipment they used are kiddos friendly.

NUH Chalet - Day 1 (Orchestra Symphony)

Initial plan was to leave at 2pm as we had to admit by 3pm. We received a call in the morning from NUH to stay put as there were not enough beds. We received a call at 2pm again to proceed down to NUH.

God answer my prayer by giving the day a good downpour so the weather was cooling. After all the administration, we proceed to our ward. Baby S was simply attracted by the next bed patient's balloon, so my Mom got him the same one. Nurses at the PICU ward were fantastic, they were caring and very helpful.

The night decided to stay young for PICU ward!!! Baby S was cranky all night, I guess he wasn't too familiar with the environment. Kiddos in the ward take turn to cry. It all started with Baby S, then it goes on and on for the whole night. The girl at the last bed cried thru out the night, poor mummy was carrying her in and out of the ward.

Baby S survived a major operation @ 4.5 month old. He surprise me by doing a roll back when I put him on tummy the other day and he could sit well with support.

NAM Treatment - Part 3 (Nasal Stand)

Nasal Stand is to give the nose a lift job and it did a wonderful job.

1st week: Nasal stand introduce at a comfortable level.
2nd week: Nasal stand was adjusted to a scary height, was instructed to keep rubbing the nose so that the tip can stay inside the nose.
3rd week: Inform Dr C.Lee that the nasal stand is at a pretty uncomfortable level, Dr C.Lee adjusted the gradient of the nasal stand. This time round it looks better.
4th week: Nasal stand's height adjusted further as the nose level will drop after operation due to muscle relaxation.
5th week: Our last appt with Dr C.Lee prior operation, nasal stand adjusted once again. Dr C.Lee was happy with the nose. We discuss about the nose retina after operation, was told to discuss with Dr Lee SJ(surgeon) as she use a different operation technique. We were instructed to only remove the plate 1 night prior the operation.

This officially ended our NAM journey.

Baby S Favourite

Every baby just have their favourite. It could be bolster, pillow, soft toys or anything.

When Baby S was more aware of his surrounding, he started to "make friends". First it was our bedroom window. He would smile happily at the window without fail. Second was the clock in our bedroom, he will coo non stop at it and often broke out in laughter. Thirdly was our wedding picture at the main hall, he would too coo and laugh at the sight of it. Among them the clock "entertained" him the most and for longest period.

Slowly he out grown all the above favourites. Now his favourite which is also our favourite is the squeaky bear soft toy. Mr Bear coax him to drink his milk, keep him calm when he cries and coax him to bed. How can such good toy not be our favourite.

How come I didn't recall having any favourite last time?

Losing the extra kilos

Many people asked me how did I shake off the weight so fast. I did not do magic. Below is the things that I have done to lost the extra fats.

Taking care of baby ALL by MYSELF
To be honest, I think God make us put on a lot of weight during pregnancy for a good reason. A mother will need all those extra fats because taking care of a baby is a very tiring job. We need the A LOT of energy to take care of the baby, those fats will in return be burnt to give us the energy. I took care of Baby S for 3 months until I return back to work force. Everyday after work, I continue to care for him. I woke up everyday at 5 am to feed milk, change diapers and change his clothing. Before I start to get myself ready for work. Slowly I realise I auto transform myself in to a Superwoman after being a mother and I'm very proud of it!!!!

Breastfeed
Although I only breastfeed for 2 months, it helps a lot by burning extra 5oo calories per day. To those who are doing confinement, please DRINK A LOT of water!!! In order to produce A LOT of breast milk, we need to drink A LOT of water. I know some people claim that drinking water during confinement will caused a huge tummy and to me this is NOT TRUE. I drink tonnes of water and my tummy was the first to shrink compare to my thighs and arms. Breastfeed will help baby to build up good immune. I do feel very guilty to stop breastfeeding at 2 months.

Eat Healthily
Good diet is the key to losing weight. We must learn to say NO to curry, nasi lemak, fried kway teow, fast foods, chocolate and all those unhealthy high calories food and snacks. When the whole office was indulging in the heavenly nasi lemak topping with my favourite chicken wings, I opted fish ball noodles. My dearest HB is one of those who alway ask do you want Macdonald(knowing french fries is my favourite), do you want Chendol or Ice Kacang. I will reject them most of the time. I wont say we should not eat these totally, once in a fortnight is perfectly fine but if you do it too often, your weighing scale will tell you your problem.

For me I take heavy breakfast, normal lunch, light tea break and light dinner. Most of the time I don't take carbohydrate during dinner. Skipping meals is a BIG NO if you want to lose weight, because our body will start to store fats once it knows the intake of food is not regular, than we will have more problem losing the fats.

Exercise
Only a died person have no time, so do you have time? Sometimes when Im not so tired, I bring my fat dog for a run, those days when Baby S needs me more, I'll play WII Fit at night. Yes even if its 11pm at night!! I do it even if I can only afford 15 minutes. There is not short cut to losing weight, exercising diligently is the way to go. I also started lifting Baby S with my legs recently, it make him happy and firm up my thighs and arms, a good 10 minutes will leave me with aching arms and legs. It also make Baby S happier!!!

The first thing to do in order to lost weight is to go to the mirror and say "I'M FAT AND I NEED TO LOST WEIGHT" out loud!!! One must be able to admit the problem before solving it. By cheating yourself doesn't works at all.

My uncle always say, 人过了四十连呼吸都会胖. If we know that this is a fact, then shouldn't we be more pro active to prevent it or do something about it. 难到就继续的胖下去吗?

Last but not least, I admit Im a big time vain pot. I need to look good in order to feel good. During my confinement period, I had phobia taking a bath. Because just by looking at those fats on my body make me feel very in confident and ugly.

I'm so happy I managed to squeeze in ALL my pre pregnancy jeans after 4.5 months of delivery. I was grinning my way to work because I was in the skinny pair of jeans once again!!!

Current weight: 43.5Kgm
Pre pregnancy weight: 42.5Kgm
My Idea weight: 40Kgm

I must JIAYOU to lost the 3.5KGM, wish me good luck!!!

PS: Pls avoid taking slimming pills, cause it will do more harm than good to our body.

NAM Treatment - Part 2 (Plate)

After 1 whole month of taping, we further proceed with the plate.

1st week: It was hell!! Baby S refuse milk, keep crying the moment the milk bottle is in his mouth.

2nd week: Baby S slightly gotten used to the plate.

3rd week: Baby S start loving the plate and suckles it like a pacifier.

4th week: Baby S gum gap are not closing ideally.

5th week: DR C.Lee found that plate slipped behind Baby S gum and make a new plate.

6th week: Baby S put on new plate which fits him much better.

7th week: Gum gap closed slightly. Dr C.Lee adjusted the plate so that gap can close even more.

8th week: Gum gap was closing at a rapid speed.

9th week: Dr C.Lee advised that gap is about 2mm wide and 3 in 1 surgery is highly possible.

10th week: Suppose to put on Nasal Stand but Dr C.Lee wants the gap to be slightly smaller before proceeding.

Baby S had a love and hatred relationship with the plate, so was I. Initially its really uncomfortable for him, but after he gotten used to it, he will cry and look for the plate if its removed from his mouth. As usual, the most paranoid person is not me and Baby S, it was my Mom.

I really had to give kudos to my baby, he is so strong, so cooperative, so much so he learns to love things he hate because he simply knew this is going to be part of him. This is something I have to learn from him!!! If we are stuck in a "bobian" situation then we need to change ourselves to adapt to the things we don't like. Life is easier with things we like than the things we hate.

Bonding

I couldn't directly breastfeed Sheldon due to his condition and that is really a killing point for me. Breastfeed provides the best bonding session between the mother and child.

After heading back to office for about 1.5 months, my time with Sheldon is much lesser. Sometimes we just need to pat him a little while and off he goes to dreamland. At times, Sheldon is able to sleep on his on.

Today I carried Sheldon until he fall asleep and I slept with him in my hands. When I woke up, I feel so bonded with Sheldon again. When Sheldon was much younger, we used to carry him to sleep because he was still feeling insecure. I didn't recall when did Sheldon outgrown this, but it was a bonding session that we didn't realise at that moment.

Children really grow up very fast, as parent we should spend as much quality time as possible with them. Because once they outgrown their childhood, you will never be able to go back again.
